WALKABOUT GOLF THERAPY

The Course
as Conversation.

A reflective therapeutic journey through movement, breath, grounding, uncertainty, choice and the next shot.

18 holes. 18 encounters. No perfect round required.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF ROUND

The person matters more than the score.

Walkabout Golf Therapy does not begin with the assumption that the swing needs to be fixed. It begins with curiosity about the person standing over the ball.

The course becomes a living landscape of inquiry. The tee offers beginning. The fairway offers direction. The rough introduces disruption. Hazards bring us close to uncertainty. A lost ball can awaken frustration, shame, humour, grief, impatience or acceptance.

“The breath does not guarantee the shot. It returns me to the person taking it.”

THE RECURRING PRACTICE

Ground. Breathe. Notice. Choose.

The rhythm is simple enough to carry onto the course — and deep enough to follow far beyond it.

01

Ground

Feel your feet. Notice your weight. Let the earth remind you where you are.

02

Breathe

Create a little space between what happened and what happens next.

03

Notice

Meet what is present without rushing to correct, explain or escape it.

04

Choose

From where you actually are, ask what your next shot — or next step — might be.

THE 18-HOLE JOURNEY

Every hole is an encounter.

Not a lesson to complete, but a doorway into lived experience.

THE WORKBOOK

Take the conversation onto the course.

The Walkabout Golf Therapy workbook offers spacious prompts for reflection, drawing, photographs, observations and conversation between client and therapist.

It can accompany nine holes, eighteen holes, a practice walk, or a session away from the course. The workbook is a companion — not a test, scorecard or instruction manual.

THE QUESTION TO CARRY HOME

Where am I standing now?

Not where should I be. Not where was I supposed to be. Where am I standing now?
